So if you’re looking for fun things to do with your dogs and you’re in the East End of Long Island, you’re in luck!
Hiking with your fur-baby is a great way to enjoy autumn in the Hamptons and generally all over Long Island where forests are lush and large with various walks available to all. If you are around East Hampton, give the Cedar Point Lighthouse Loop Trail a try. It’s located at 101-117 Cedar Point Road and just under six miles and takes about 2.5 hours to walk and even takes you around the lighthouse.
Sag Harbor has the Long Pond Greenbelt Trail that is 3.5 miles and takes a little under two hours to get around. It’s located at 60-82 Round Pound Lane.
Dog Parks are becoming almost standard on the East End because we love our fur-babies so much! In Riverhead, we have the Isaac Dog Park located in the upper parking field at Stotzky Park.
If you’re in Southampton, you have the fabulous dog run at Lola Prentice Park on Windmill Lane right next to the Southampton Village Police Department.
And if you’re out east, the Springs Dog Park is absolutely gorgeous and right off of Three Mile Harbor after Whipple if you’re driving North. It’s a one mile loop with lots of little nooks and crannies that can extend or shorten the loop which generally takes a 45 minutes to get all the way around. You’ll also find poop bags and lots of garbage cans.
